Overview

Web Call Preview lets you start a live, two-way voice conversation with your AI assistant directly from the Call Agent AI dashboard. It’s the fastest way to hear how your assistant sounds, responds, and behaves before deploying it to real callers.

With Web Call Preview, you can:

  • Instantly test any assistant without a phone number

  • Hear the exact voice and personality customers will experience

  • Validate prompts, tone, and conversation flow

  • Test knowledge base responses, SMS/email triggers, and bookings

  • Verify Zoho CRM–connected assistants with full functionality

  • Review full transcripts inside Call Logs

This guide explains how to access Web Call Preview, run test calls, and understand usage and billing.

1. Access Web Call Preview

There are two ways to open Web Call Preview.

Option A: From the Assistants List

  1. Log into your Call Agent AI dashboard

  2. Click Assistants in the left sidebar

  3. Find the assistant you want to test

  4. Click Preview on the assistant card

  5. You’ll be taken to the Edit Assistant page with Web Call Preview available

Option B: From the Edit Assistant Page

  1. Go to Assistants

  2. Click any assistant to open Edit Assistant

  3. At the top of the page, locate the button labeled “Hear the AI in action”

What you should see: A purple / gradient button with a microphone icon labeled “Hear the AI in action.”


2. Start a Web Call

Begin a live voice conversation with your assistant.

  1. Click “Hear the AI in action”

  2. When prompted, allow microphone access

  3. The button changes to “AI is talking… tap to end”

  4. Your assistant speaks its configured greeting

  5. Speak naturally — the assistant listens and responds in real time

3. End the Web Call

  1. Click “AI is talking… tap to end”

  2. The call immediately stops

  3. The button resets to “Hear the AI in action”

  4. The conversation is automatically saved to Call Logs

Result: Audio stops and the full conversation is logged and transcribed.


4. View Web Calls in Call Logs

To review your test call:

  1. Click Call Logs in the left sidebar

  2. Find the call labeled “Web Call” (shown with a blue badge)

  3. Click the entry to expand details

  • Templates and conditions apply as configured

  • All knowledge base rules apply

  • The assistant responds using the same logic as live calls

Real-Time Booking

  • Cal.com booking works during web calls

  • Users can schedule appointments by voice

Zoho CRM Integration

  • Lead and contact creation works normally

  • Webhooks and field mappings trigger as expected

Test & Verify

Desktop Test

  1. Open your dashboard in Chrome or Edge

  2. Click “Hear the AI in action”

  3. Allow microphone access

  4. Ask a test question (e.g. pricing, services, booking)

  5. Verify responses and triggers

  6. End the call and review Call Logs

Mobile Test

  1. Open the dashboard in your mobile browser

  2. Start a web call

  3. Allow microphone access

  4. Verify audio works both ways
