Requirements

Before installing the plugin, ensure you have:

  • Your API Token and Assistant ID


1. Create Your Call Agent AI Account

  1. Click Sign Up

  2. Complete the registration form

  3. Confirm and verify your email

  4. Log into your dashboard


2. Choose a Plan

3. Create Your AI Assistant

  1. Open your Call Agent AI dashboard

  2. Go to AssistantsCreate New Assistant

  3. Configure:

    • Assistant name

    • Personality & tone

    • Knowledge base (products, policies, FAQs)

    • Voice (if using calls)

  4. Click Save

Get Your Credentials

Inside the assistant’s Plugin Setup section, copy:

  • API Token

  • Assistant ID

You’ll need both for Shopify.


4. Install the Shopify App

Via Shopify App Store

  1. Open the Shopify App Store

  2. Search for Call Agent AI

  3. Click Add App

  4. Approve permissions

  5. You’ll be redirected to the app settings

Manual / Private Install

If provided with an install link:

  1. Open your Shopify admin

  2. Follow the authorization steps

  3. Complete installation


5. Configure the Widget

Inside the Call Agent AI app in Shopify:

  • API Token → Paste from dashboard

  • Assistant ID → Paste from dashboard

6. Add Your Store to CORS (Required)

Your Shopify store must be explicitly allowed.

  1. Go to admin.callagentai.com

  2. Open Settings → CORS / Allowed Origins

  3. Add:

Without this step, the widget will not connect.


7. Go Live & Test

  1. Visit your Shopify storefront

  2. Look for the floating widget

  3. Test:

    • Chat responses

    • Voice calls (allow microphone access)

  4. Test on mobile for responsiveness

API Token

Authenticates your store with Call Agent AI.

Assistant ID

Determines which AI assistant your customers interact with.

Feature Mode

  • Chat + Voice → full experience

  • Chat Only → text support

  • Voice Only → call-first experience


Troubleshooting

Widget Not Showing

  • Widget enabled?

  • API Token & Assistant ID correct?

  • Store domain added to CORS?

  • Browser cache cleared?

Voice Not Working

  • HTTPS required

  • Microphone permission enabled

  • Voice plan active

Errors

  • “Invalid API Token” → re-copy token

  • “Assistant not found” → verify ID

  • “No usage remaining” → billing check
