Configure Information Extractor

Overview

This guide will walk you through setting up the Information Extractor, a feature that allows your assistant to automatically capture key details from calls, such as the caller’s name, email address, and phone number. This data can then be used to send personalized notifications or trigger follow-up actions.

The Information Extractor is a powerful tool that enables your AI assistant to gather essential details from calls and use them for enhanced communication. To get started, log into the Call Agent AI dashboard, navigate to the "Assistant" tab, select your assistant, and open the Information Extractor settings. From here, you can configure multiple identifiers to capture various pieces of information from calls. This automatically extracted data can be leveraged to personalize SMS or email notifications, improving the overall caller experience.

Step 1: Log In and Access your Assistant

1

Sign in to your Call Agent AI account. You can login here.

2

From the Dashboard, navigate to the Assistants tab on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you will see a list of all the assistants you have created.

3

Find the assistant you want to configure and click the Preview button.

Step 2: Open the Information Extractor Configuration

1

In your chosen assistant's settings, click on the Settings tab.

2

Navigate to the Information Extractor section.

3

To create a new extractor, click on the Create button. This will open the Configuration Page.

Step 3: Set Up an Identifier and Define What to Extract

The Identifier defines the specific piece of information the AI will extract during a call.

1

In the Identifier Field, input a label that describes the information you want to extract. If the label contains multiple words, use an underscore (_) in place of spaces.

Examples of Identifiers

  • caller_name → to extract the caller’s name.

  • caller_mobile → to extract the caller’s phone number.

  • caller_email → to extract the caller’s email address.

2

Provide a clear prompt to guide the AI on what information to gather. These prompts tell the AI what to look for during the call and store the extracted information under the corresponding identifier.

Examples of Prompts

  • caller_name → “What is the user’s or caller’s name?”

  • caller_mobile → “What is the caller’s mobile number?”

  • caller_email → “What is the caller’s email address?”

Step 4: Save and Finalize Changes

1

After configuring the identifier and prompt, click the Save button located at the upper-right corner of the screen.

2

Repeat Step 3 to create additional extractors for other details, such as home addresses, appointment dates and booking times.

3

Once all the necessary extractors are set up, click the Submit button in the upper-right corner of the screen to save your configurations.

Step 5: Test and Adjust Your Identifiers

1

Regularly test the information extractor to ensure it is working correctly.

2

Update prompts as needed to match common caller scenarios.
