Add Prompts to Assistant
Overview
This guide will walk you through adding prompts to your assistant in the Call Agent AI backend system. Prompts are key to defining your assistant’s personality and shaping its responses during customer interactions. They help establish the tone and direction for how your assistant handles various scenarios. Crafting effective prompts is essential, as they determine the quality of your assistant’s responses and overall performance.
Begin by outlining your assistant’s purpose and desired tone—whether it's friendly, professional, or supportive. For example, if your assistant functions as a receptionist, you might want it to adopt a warm and welcoming tone to create a positive first impression. Be sure to include responses for common customer queries, ensuring smooth interactions and the delivery of accurate, helpful information every time.

Click on the Preview button under the desired assistant. This will open the assistant's settings.
Step 3: Access the Prompt Configuration Section
In the assistant settings, click on the Prompt section. This is where you can set up prompts to guide your assistant’s responses and interactions.
Select Your Assistant Type and Set a Custom Greeting
When setting up your assistant, you'll need to choose between an Inbound Assistant or an Outbound Assistant, and configure a custom greeting accordingly.
🔹 Inbound Assistant
This type of assistant is designed to respond to incoming requests or interactions initiated by users.
How to add a custom greeting: Simply enter your desired greeting message directly into the Custom Greeting field provided in the setup interface.
Example: “Welcome! How can I assist you today?”
🔹 Outbound Assistant
This assistant initiates conversations or engages with users proactively.
How to add a custom greeting: Since outbound assistants rely on predefined prompts, you’ll need to include your custom greeting within the prompt itself rather than using the separate Custom Greeting field.
Example in prompt: Opening greeting: “Hi there! I’m here to help you get started. Do you have a moment to chat?”

Step 4: Add Prompts to Shape the Assistant’s Identity
Start with a solid foundation by carefully planning prompts.
Define the Assistant’s Role and Personality
Example: If your assistant acts as a receptionist, give it a friendly and helpful persona.
Add Sample Scripts for Common Scenarios
Examples of Common Scenarios:
Office Hours: “Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.”
Location: “We are located at 123 Main Street, Suite 456.”
Service Details: Provide concise information about services offered.
Focus on Frequent Inquiries and Follow-Up Responses
Double-check the prompts to ensure they reflect the tone and knowledge you want for your assistant.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
